Sarah's Story
I'm Sarah, the founder of The Bright and the Curious.
My journey into specialist education began with a simple belief: every child deserves to feel confident in their learning abilities. After two decades working within the education system, I have witnessed firsthand how personalised support can transform a child's academic journey and self-belief.
What drives me is seeing that moment when a child realises they can do it, when the right teaching approach unlocks their potential and lights up their curiosity. These moments inspired me to establish The Bright and the Curious, bringing specialist literacy, dyslexia, and maths support to families who need it.
My Approach
My teaching philosophy centres on three core principles
Multisensory techniques
Children learn best when engaging multiple senses. I incorporate visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, and tactile elements into every lesson, creating stronger neural connections and more effective learning experiences.
Building confidence
Academic skills and self-confidence grow together. Every session is designed not just to teach concepts but to nurture a positive self-image and resilience in the face of challenges.

Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association- Current Assessment Practising Certificate

I both assess and teach — the assessment tells us what a child needs, and the tutoring delivers it.

As a British educator, I offer a unique perspective on educational support in this region. My intimate knowledge of the British curriculum lets me:
